Here we go again, it seems that the Thai police is again searching and raiding pubs around Bangkok in search of illegal drugs. This weekend they raided a pub at Thong Lor and a pub/bar/dancing in the Suttisarn area. All raids turned out nothing and they only confused a few foreigners who did not understand what was happening. Maybe the police, if they going to continue this drugs raids on entertainment revenues, can also bring a police officer who can explain in common understandable English what is happening. It would also be an advice to not consider by standard that not all orange tablets found are illegal drugs, especially if they are in a plastic brown medicine tub with English and French text on it accompanied with a hospital logo.
We belief that this raids are probably the beginning of a new series of crackdowns on illegal drugs use in pubs by the Bangkok Metropolitan police. If you plan to go swinging to the boogie, we can advice that you take a recent copy of your passport, including visa stamp, with you. If you use medicine, pack them as official as possible, also if you have any papers to confirm the use of the medicine take a copy with you.
