Kingston Memory Warranty

Avoid buying Kingston memory distributed by Ingram Micro. We love Kingston memory; we use Kingston memory modules in most of our computers.

It not happens that often, but it happens sometimes, a memory module broke down, we think no problem the memory module is 2 years old and we have life-time-warranty on Kingston.

But to our surprise, life-time-warranty is less then 2 years at Panthip Ingram-Micro service center. So we, paid extra for believing we bought something like 5 to 6 years warranty and ended up with nothing other then what you get with regular cheapest memory modules.

At least Synnex, the other Thai Kingston distributor is not shy and still offers Life-time-warranty, we also last weekend exchanged a goldy-oldy 256MB SRAM SIM without any problem.

So Ingram-Micro… for Kingston is for us a no no, and surely that will have effect on other products which they distribute.

---------------------------------------

A update (Sat. March 8) on the service of Ingram-Micro Thailand, after we had contact with Ingram-Micro and Kingston regarding the defective memory module, we received a official “sorry”

And Ingram-Micro told us that not exchanging the Kingston memory module was absolute not a company policy. It maybe happened, because one of the workers had a unhappy moment.

Anyway we got a new Kingston Memory module and the computer works like nothing happened.
